Thanksgiving

Today during the 3rd hour of church, the teacher asked the congregation if anyone had a blog. I raised my hand and got to tell everyone what kind of things we put on our blog. Charlotte found this ironic, since I have yet to contribute anything at all to the effort. I was therefore assigned to cover our Thanksgiving exploits as an approved Sunday activity.

We spent Thanksgiving with the Benders. We taught them how to play Bang (an Italian game about the Wild West), which was awesome. I was impressed by how well Jared was able to play; it's quite advanced for his age. We also played Mystery at the Abbey, which Kaylee got for her birthday (kind of like clue), as well as some Italian Warlord game. Charlotte won the Italian warlord game, as well as one round of bang. She also figured out who committed the murder at the abbey, but I won with points :)

Char's parents came to town late Friday night, and brought us all kinds of good stuff they were giving away because her mother is setting up a Montessori school in their basement and they need the space. We now have a real dining room table, a coffee table, a bed for the guest bedroom, and lots of other things! Now if anyone comes to visit us we don't have to put them out on the couch! We're really excited.

I've been in STE school for about two weeks now. We were told before we started that STE school is like trying to drink from a fire hose, and I would say the description is fairly accurate. I put in about 2 extra hours a day, and have come in on both Saturdays to get some extra study time in. So far I'm holding my head above water though.
