Saturday was our very first anniversary which was thrilling, let me tell you. I spent my morning doing dishes and laundry while Seth was off at scout camp with a nasty headache. Still, he was eventually allowed to come home and showed up with some amazingly lovely roses (kind of marbled red ones that are opening up oh so nicely right now :D). We enjoyed a lovely walk involving a piano, a bagel, horse slobber, house stilts, and a Zippy-van pulling a tiki hut full of parrots. (Apparently there was a parade earlier in the day that had parrots, princesses and mermaids?) All in all, it was actually a pretty good day aside from Seth's headache which has now progressed into a full on cold. Poor Seth! On the bright side, we're planning to take a trip out to the San Juan Islands that will be our delayed anniversary sometime this fall so he should be feeling much better by then. :)
It's so crazy to think that it's been a year already. Logically, I have been aware of the passage of time and it make sense that now that we're back at the end of June that it's been a year but it just doesn't feel like it's been that long. More like a couple of months. Maybe. But given that it actually has been a year, I think we're doing quite well with each other.
Lately we've been having fun house hunting. Surprisingly, Seth appears to be the pickier one of us. Who would have guessed? Still, after passing on one house that was probably a great deal on a great house that just didn't seem like our style, breaking into another house that we liked and discovering that whoever designed the interior was clearly not thinking rationally, we did managed to find a house we liked. Then we came home, pulled it up online and discovered that the owners had accepted an offer for it. That day. Grrr. I'm hoping the sale falls through. Realistically it probably won't, but it doesn't hurt to hope, right? Happily, since we'd simply like to buy a house rather than needing to buy a house we've got plenty of time to wait and find one that we really like. I don't think our realtor appreciates our relaxed approach all that much but that's understandable, lol.
Well, I'm off to bed. Hopefully I'll get some pictures posted tomorrow but that kind of depends on whether I can find a) the camera and/or b) the connecting cord and if my computer is feeling depressed or not. :P
